Physical Therapy Staff

  • Founder

    Angie was born and raised in Charleston, WV. She got her undergraduate degree from King College in Bristol, TN, and then her graduate degree in Physical Therapy from Shenandoah University in Winchester, VA. She has been a physical therapist for more than 25 years and has worked in almost all areas of the field. She enjoys the outpatient setting the most. She felt a calling to be a therapist since high school and she continues to love what she does.

    She and her husband James have been married for over 30 years. They have two grown children and 4 grandchildren. They moved to Beckley in 1997 and have made it their home. Her heart’s desire is to serve the Lord with all her energy and love people like He does. She loves working at Performance PT and is thankful to the Lord for all He has done to make it happen. She is honored to serve the people of this area and very thankful for the blessing they are to her and her staff.

  • Physical Therapy Manager

    Matt has been a PTA for over 30 years and specializes in orthopedic injuries and sports medicine. He has 3 children and he and his wife Beverly have been married more than 20 years. He is a Shady Spring High School graduate and served in the US Navy for nearly 7 years. He was able to obtain his PTA degree while in the Navy. Matt is heavily involved in his church, where he is a member of the praise band and is a WVSSAC football official. He also enjoys spending time with his wife, kids, and dogs and is an avid golfer.

  • Rusty is a 2003 graduate of Wyoming East High School and a 2008 Graduate of Concord University with a BS in Athletic Training. He completed his Doctorate of Physical Therapy at WVU in 2011 and has been practicing mainly in outpatient orthopedics since that time. Rusty has also sought continued training in field of Strength and Conditioning and is a USAW Level 1 Sport Performance Coach as well as Clinical Athlete Weightlifting Coach Certified. Rusty resides in Lewisburg WV with his wife, Nadine, daughter Raelyn and his two Hugo and Rogue.

  • Ron is a graduate of Penn State University and has been a PT Assistant for 34 years with a varied background in Physical Therapy treating patients of all ages.

  • Paul has been working in the field of rehabilitation for over 30 years. He holds an AS in Physical Therapy Assistant from NRCC, a BA in Athletic Training and a MS in Cardiac Rehabilitation and Adult Fitness from Marshall University. He received advanced certification as a Corrective Exercise Specialist through NASM. He has served as head athletic trainer and professor at West Virginia Wesleyan College; adjunct professor at Concord College, community athletic trainer for many local high schools and colleges, and Director of Rehab Services at Raleigh General Hospital. Paul enjoys working with athletic injuries but also has an interest in foot, hand, and shoulder injuries.

    Paul and his wife, Maria have two sons, Ian and Aedan. He and his family attend Daniels Bible Church where he has served as an elder and currently teaches Sunday School. His interests include bicycling (he has cycled the entire Blue Ridge Parkway – 575 miles), martial arts, teaching, and spending time playing games with his family.

  • Jocelyn is a Physical Therapist, who has been with the clinic since 2016.

    Jocelyn and her husband Phillip have 3 boys, Sawyer (11), Gunner (8), and Hudson (5) and 2 dogs, Milo and Maggie.

    She is a 2001 graduate of Independence High School and a 2006 graduate of West Virginia University. She has experience in multiple settings, but the majority of her experience lies in outpatient and neurorehabilitation. She has a Parkinson’s certification, treats our vestibular patients, treats a lot of low back and pelvic pain, and utilizes manual therapy regularly.

  • Heather grew up in Grandview, WV, and graduated from Shady Spring High School in 1997. She received a BA Degree in Human Performance and Health in 2001 and her Master of Physical Therapy degree in 2002 from West Virginia University. Heather has 21 years of experience treating patients with orthopedic conditions and movement disorders. She is proficient at treating low back pain and sacroiliac disorders. Heather is a Lymphedema specialist and has treated patients suffering from Lymphedema and swelling disorders for 20 years. She became a Certified Lymphedema Therapist in 2012 and obtained her Lymphology Association of North America (LANA) Certification. She subsequently obtained her Certified Lymphedema and Wound Therapist certification as well as her Oncology Care Certification. Heather has taught Lymphedema Certification Courses for Monarch Education and has been a guest lecturer for the Marshall University Physical Therapy School on the topic of Lymphedema. Heather lectures regionally about Lymphedema diagnosis and treatment and was a guest speaker for the Family Medicine Foundation of West Virginia in 2021. Heather has been a resident of Summersville, WV for 19 years living with her husband, Bill, and their 2 sons. Heather enjoys being active in her small community and her home church.

  • Lisa is a graduate of Wyoming East High School and from Mountain State University. Soon after graduating from the PTA program at MSU she began working at Raleigh General Hospital as an acute care therapist and eventually in the Sports Medicine & Rehab clinic. Lisa earned a certification in lymphedema management (CLT) and is proficient in pre- and postpartum pain relief techniques. Lisa continues to reside in Wyoming County with her husband and children.

    Julian is a 1997 Medical Assistant graduate of ACT. She is an Office Manager with over 25 years of experience. When not working she enjoys spending her time with her husband Patrick of 25 years, family and their 3 dogs. Her hobbies are creating and crafting. Her experience in insurance verifications helps her to work closely with the clinical staff to customize each treatment plan in order to maximize care with the fewest visits possible to best utilize the client’s insurance coverage.

    Julain has worked alongside some of the Performance Physical Therapy staff for over the past 20 years!

    She often jokes that some of her fellow work family helped raise her. She is so grateful for how the Lord has worked her career path and great colleagues into this amazing family work environment.

  • Physical Therapy Aide

    Tim was born & raised in Washington D.C. and has over 10 years of experience as a P.T. tech. He began working in-patient at Holy Cross Hospital located in Silver Spring M.D. as well as two outpatient facilities, also located in the Downtown Silver Spring area.


    Tim says his mission in life is to provide love, knowledge, fun, safety, and security for his family, and he brings that same mission on the job, making him a very caring and attentive PTA.

    Time enjoys conversing with others, especially about religion, professional sports, certain books, movies, or just life in general.

    Jean and her husband Jim live in Daniels, WV, and have one son Ryan. They enjoy camping and spending time together. They are members of Memorial Baptist Church. She also enjoys watching Oklahoma Football and Pittsburgh Steelers and Cleveland Browns games. They also enjoy attending WVU games, where their son is a cheerleader.

    Russ graduated from Shady Spring High School in 2017 and went to West Virginia Wesleyan College, where he earned his Bachelor’s (2021) and Master’s (2022) in Athletic Training. Russ is also working to obtain his certification for Personal Training.

    Russ and his wife, Jaelyn, have 3 fur babies: 2 cats (Salem and Newt) and a pupper (Crew). They enjoy adventuring to new places and exploring the country as much as they can.
